Wales Touch are immensely proud to say that our Wales Mixed Open team have done it again... they have become back-to-back gold medallists at the European Touch Championships! Having won the title last year in Nottingham, England they had it all to do to defend their title this year in Vichy, France. The standard of play was as high as ever with stiff competition and the final was no different as Wales beat a strong France side by 7-6 in normal time to take the spoils. This is the first time a team from Wales has ever achieved a back to back Euros win in the Open category.

Congratulations too to our Wales M45 team for bringing home the Silver medal, only losing to England in the final (who they had earlier beaten in the round robin stages). Our Women's Open team took Bronze, narrowly missing out on a place in the final to France having earlier drawn to them previously. The Wales M40 faced disappointment in losing to France in their Semi final having already beaten them twice earlier in the competition, but went on to convincingly win their play-off to take the Bronze medal.
Our W27 and M30 both narrowly missed out on medalling this year, particularly the new-look M30 team who lost their playoff by 1 score just before the hooter.
