WTA Personnel
The WTA is officially recognised as the National Governing Body for Touch in Wales and is responsible for the governance and development of Touch in Wales. The WTA are currently funded by membership fees and run by an Executive Board responsible for developing the Strategic Direction for the sport in Wales and elected by the membership.
The Executive Board consists of 4 members. The officers of the WTA for the period 2009 - 2011 are

Neil Perkins was one of the founder members of the Wales Touch Association in 1999, and has been a key individual in the development of the sport in Wales. Wales's most capped player, Neil was enlisted as the first Hall of Fame member for the WTA in 2010 as a recognition of his contibution to the game. Neil has been the Managing Director for the WTA for the last 3 years and represents Wales at the Touch Europe Forum.

Kevin Hobbs is the National Director for Touch referees in Wales. He has recently become Wales’ first Federation International Touch (FIT) Level 4 qualified referee and will be one of three Wales referee representatives at this year’s Touch World Cup in Scotland. He has played or refereed Touch all over Europe as well as in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and South Africa. He is currently the WTA Financial Director.

Gwion has been involved in Touch in Wales for 20 years, having first been introduced to the sport by Paul Nepia, and along with Neil was a founder member of the WTA in 1999. A player with over 50 Wales Caps, Gwion is also a Level 2 Referee, Level 2 Coach and WTA course presenter. He has been a WTA Director for the last 3 years and is currently the Head Coach of the Wales Womens' Open Team.

Below the Executive Board is an operational structure responsible for the operational delivery of the WTA’s objectives in accordance with the Strategic Plan.

The WTA are affiliated to the Federation of International Touch (FIT).
The WTA are committed to securing the long term future of the sport, from grass roots through to elite level adopting the pathway and progression development areas as below:

Foundation:among young people, the acquisition of basic movement and sport skills to provide a foundation for personal development and future participation.

Participation:among all levels of the community, the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities, whether for reasons of enjoyment, fitness, social contact or a simple desire to get involved in sport.
