Club Touch leagues have been operating successfully in Wales since the introduction of the game in 1988. These vary from long-established leagues such as those in Cardiff, to those newly formed such as the ones in Caerphilly and Wrexham
The WTA seek to develop local leagues and festivals to stimulate local activity with the potential for it to be incorporated into a national framework via regional festivals and national competition. The WTA would be keen to talk to anyone interested in running, leagues, one-off festivals or try it sessions.

The leagues generally operate throughout the summer months, although there may be some opportunities to take advantage of additional ‘Twilight Touch’ modules running through September and October.
The number of league modules is increasing steadily and are located throughout Wales.
In addition, some stand-alone tournaments are organised throughout the season.
Organised leagues and tournaments are required to affiliate to the national body in order to become recognised as an official league and included in regional, national and international activities. For further details on the benefits of Affiliation, and the process involved click here.
As a player, all you need to get started is a willingness to learn and have some fun. You can start by simply getting a bunch of friends together and entering the local league.
Opportunities are available to play in mens open, womens open and mixed open leagues.

For those players wishing to adopt Touch as a competitive sport, opportunities are available for all participants of leagues in Wales have the opportunity to try for a place within the various Wales squads through the league structure. Players identified as demonstrating a talent for the sport through the league network are invited to trial for one of the national squads. This is now supplemented by the introduction of Regional sides, selected from the best players taken from the various leagues to expose a greater number of players to a higher level of competition.
The WTA aims to benefit both players and the league/tournament organisers by advertising these events to members. In return, member players can expect a certain standard of organisation from the events, as the organisers will have access to refereeing and tournament management assistance from the Association.
